On Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 June 2026, the SEAT Luxembourg Billie Jean King Cup team faced Andorra and Estonia in its opening two matches of the Europe Group III competition at the Cassa di Risparmio Tennis Center – Fonte dell'Ovo in San Marino.
On Wednesday, Luxembourg opened its campaign with a 2-1 victory over Andorra. In the opening singles match, Eleonora Molinaro needed just 48 minutes to defeat Laura Pichel 6-0, 6-1. The Luxembourg number one dominated throughout the encounter, winning 53 points compared to her opponent's seventeen. She landed 78% of her first serves, won 80% of points behind her first serve and a perfect 100% of points on her second serve, while converting six of eleven break points.
Marie Weckerle then faced Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (WTA ranked #111) in the second singles match. The Luxembourg player competed well but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-1, converting three of six break points and winning 49 points overall compared to her opponent's 68.
Molinaro and Weckerle secured Luxembourg's victory in the doubles match, defeating Judit Cartana Alana and Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6-3, 6-3 in one hour and ten minutes. The Luxembourg pair converted five of six break points and won 60 points compared to their opponents' 44, giving their team a winning start to the tournament.
Luxembourg returned to the courts on Thursday 18 June 2026 to face Estonia, but were unable to build on their opening success, losing the tie 3-0.
In the opening singles match, Eleonora Molinaro pushed Elizaveta Anikina over three sets before eventually falling 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 after two hours and 42 minutes. She served at 72% on her first serve and won 104 points overall, but Elizaveta Anikina proved more effective on key moments, converting eight of sixteen break points compared to six of nineteen for the Luxembourg player.
Marie Weckerle then faced Elena Malygina (WTA ranked #319) and lost 6-3, 6-1 in one hour and thirteen minutes. Although Marie Weckerle landed 78% of her first serves, her opponent dominated behind her own serve, striking four aces and winning 60 points compared to the Luxembourger's 39 to secure the second point for Estonia.
The doubles match also went Estonia's way, with Ingrid Neel and Laura Rahnel defeating Leila Fabbri and Onalee Wagner 6-0, 6-3 in 55 minutes. The Estonian pair converted all seven of their break-point opportunities and won 53 points overall, while Luxembourg's duo managed 29 points as Estonia completed a 3-0 victory.
The SEAT Luxembourg Billie Jean King Cup team have completed their Group B campaign with one victory and one defeat. Their final position will be determined on Friday 19 June 2026, when Estonia face Andorra in the remaining group tie. Teams finishing second and third in their respective pools will advance to the positional play-offs on Saturday 20 June 2026.
