Amnesty International Luxembourg has announced that it will hold its traditional Human Rights March in Luxembourg-Ville on Wednesday 10 December 2025 to mark International Human Rights Day.

International Human Rights Day marks the adoption of the 1948 Universal Declaration and provides the organisation with an opportunity to highlight, through torches and candles, individuals whose fundamental rights are not respected. The march aims to recall the rights to which every person, without distinction, should be entitled everywhere, including “freedom, dignity, equality and justice”.

The organisation is inviting interested participants to join the march through the streets of Luxembourg City, departing at 18:00 near Cercle Cité on Rue Genistre. Organisers requested that participants arrive a few minutes early in order to receive signs and/or torches.

In its announcement, Amnesty International Luxembourg stated: “Anyone choosing to create their own signs must ensure that the messages displayed are in line with Amnesty International’s values. National flags have no place within the procession. The organisation warmly thanks all participants for their support, goodwill and cooperation in ensuring the smooth running of the event.”
