The City of Luxembourg (VdL) officially inaugurated the Winterkids Village at Place Guillaume II in Luxembourg Ville on Saturday 20 December 2025.
The space comprises part of the "Winterkids" section of VdL’s festive "Winterlights" programme and is specially designed for children and families. The opening took place in the presence of Mayor of Luxembourg City Lydie Polfer and Alderman Patrick Goldschmidt.
Until Sunday 4 January 2026, cooking and craft workshops, as well as puppet shows, singing and music performances, will be offered each day (excluding Thursday 25 December) from 11:00 to 18:00, providing children and their parents with an immersive experience in a creative and friendly atmosphere.
The complete programme of almost 300 workshops and performances, together with practical information, is available at winterkids.vdl.lu.
Participation in the programme’s events is free and does not require any prior reservation. However, the VdL recommends that parents attend with their children approximately fifteen minutes before the start time of each workshop to register. Participation is limited to the number of places available, which are restricted per workshop.
