On Friday 10 July 2026, the Sports Department of the City of Luxembourg (VdL) announced the launch of its “Sports for All” programme.

The VdL said the programme will be offered throughout the year and is aimed at young people, adults and seniors. More than 200 weekly recreational sports, fitness and health-focused sports sessions take place from Monday to Sunday at over 30 locations across the city, whether indoors, in swimming pools or outdoors.

To help everyone maintain their physical fitness during the summer holidays, the Sports Department of the City of Luxembourg has developed the special “Sports for All – Summer Holidays” programme, which will run from Thursday 16 July to Wednesday 30 September 2026.

Although the number of classes available for each age group will be reduced over the next two months, the activities on offer will allow everyone interested to have fun, maintain an active sporting routine and discover new sporting disciplines.

The programme for young people aged twelve to sixteen includes team sports such as beach volleyball and football, as well as individual sports, including weight training, fitness gymnastics and running.

Adult classes focus mainly on fitness, gymnastics, weight training, as well as outdoor activities such as jogging, beach volleyball, qi gong and tai chi.

The summer programme for seniors focuses primarily on gentle gymnastics sessions, sports adapted for older adults, weight training, walking and Nordic walking.

In addition to indoor and outdoor sports classes, the VdL is also organising daily activities at Kinnekswiss between 10 July and 30 August 2026. Alongside regular tai chi and qi gong classes, the City is providing free sports equipment to allow people of all ages and interests to take part in more than 30 different sporting activities. Qualified instructors will be present to advise the public, manage the provision of sports equipment and ensure continuous sporting activities at the site throughout the week, from 11:30 to 19:30 (except in the event of rainfall).

From Friday 10 July to Sunday 13 September 2026, a park featuring twelve trampolines will be installed in Luxembourg-Merl municipal park. Children and adults will be able to enjoy this free activity every day from 12:00 to 20:00 (except in the event of rainfall).
