Lux-Airport has reported that an accident involving a light aircraft impacted runway operations at Luxembourg Airport on the evening of Thursday 13 November 2025.

At around 19:00, an accident occurred at Luxembourg Airport during the landing of a light aircraft, which came to a stop after several hundred metres, unable to manoeuvre further. As a result, the runway had to be closed immediately.

The pilots received medical attention and the Grand Ducal Police and the Administration of Technical Investigations (AET) carried out a technical accident investigation, after which the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) initiated recovery operations for the aircraft. Lux-Airport specified that safety procedures were fully and immediately implemented.

Subsequently, the runway was inspected for any technical damage or contamination, cleaned and reopened for safe air traffic at 23:07. In the meantime, several flights had to be cancelled or diverted due to the runway closure.

Lux-Airport clarified that only the occupants of the light aircraft were involved in the incident, and no other aircraft or vehicles were affected.

Lux-Airport stated that it had kept passengers "promptly informed" through terminal announcements and screen messages, as well as via its website and social media channels, and provided free water in the terminal.

The runway did not sustain any damage as a result of the accident and is reported to be safe for operations.

Lux-Airport expressed its gratitude to everyone involved for their "swift" and "professional" response, as well as passengers for their patience and understanding.
