The British-Luxembourg Society (BLS) is organising a visit to the Musée Rural Peppange on Saturday 4 October 2025 at 10:00.
Join the BLS for a journey into Luxembourg's rural past, expertly guided in English by Percy Lallemang, Past President of the Society.
Programme Highlights
10:00: Meet-Up outside the Musée Rural in Peppange (38 Rue de Crauthem, L-3390)
Begin the day with an exclusive guided tour of the Musée Rural Peppange, set on a beautifully preserved farm dating to 1849. Since its founding in 1999, the museum has offered a fascinating window into rural life in centuries past.
Explore logically organised sections dedicated to essential aspects of farming, such as ploughing, sowing and harvesting.
Stroll through the farmer's garden, laid out in four boxwood-bordered ridges, growing vegetables, spices and medicinal plants.
Discover the reconstructions of a medieval blacksmith's shop and a village smithy-both in excellent working order and a highlight for visitors of all ages.
Step inside the authentically furnished farmhouse to experience the art of living in bygone times.
12:00: Lunch at Pizzeria San Marino (five-minute walk from the museum). Attendees can order a la carte. Note that lunch is not included in the ticket price.
14:30-15:30: Visit of the Carriage Museum
Continue exploring with a visit to the Carriage Museum, where attendees will encounter a collection of historic carriages and learn about their role in Luxembourg’s heritage.
Visit a number of vehicles that were formerly owned by the Grand Ducal Court, as well as one carriage that is currently owned by the Grand Duke himself.
Early booking is recommended, as places are limited.
The ticket price for the guided tour of the Musée Rural and the Carriage Museum is €25 per person (excluding lunch). For logistical reasons, it is not possible to only book part of the programme.
