The Luxembourg-based New World Theatre Club (NWTC) has announced it has acquired the rights to produce Every Brilliant Thing, by Duncan MacMillan, and will stage six performances across two locations in May and June 2026.

Every Brilliant Thing tells the story of a protagonist whose life begins in the shadows of their mother's severe depression. Hoping to help her, they decide to make a list of everything that gives meaning to life. Despite the tragic outcome of their mother's suffering, and as they grow up and enter adulthood, the list grows with them, accompanying them through life's ups and downs, the challenges they face, and the new experiences they have.

The NWTC describe the production as “a poignant play that explores the sacrifices we are willing to make for those we love and the strength we can draw from them”. They added: “The writers have created a powerful and endearing blend of sincerity and humour against a backdrop of a difficult taboo subject.”

NWTC have detail that performances will take place at the Sang a Klang in Pfaffenthal on Wednesday 6, Thursday 7, Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 May. Additional performances will take place at the International School of Luxembourg (ISL) in Luxembourg-Merl on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June.

Depending on the date and location, performances will feature one of three different combinations of actors and director.

Performer and ticket information will be revealed by the NWTC soon.
