The Maison du Grand-Duc has reported that Prince Félix of Luxembourg is celebrating his 41st birthday on Tuesday 3 June 2025.
Prince Félix Léopold Marie Guillaume, Prince of Luxembourg, Prince of Nassau and Bourbon-Parma, was born on 3 June 1984 at the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg. He is the second child of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg. Named after his great-grandfather Prince Félix of Bourbon-Parma, Prince Félix of Luxembourg is currently fourth in the order of succession to the throne.
After attending primary school in Lorentzweiler, Prince Félix continued his secondary school studies at the private school Notre-Dame Sainte-Sophie de Luxembourg and then at the American School of Luxembourg. In 1998, he joined the Swiss boarding school Collège Alpin Beau Soleil in Villars-sur-Ollon, where he met his future wife, Claire Lademacher. In 2003, he graduated with honours from secondary school. He then joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, but quit for health reasons before graduating.
Afterwards, Prince Félix completed internships in various companies. From 2005 to 2009, he worked at the marketing and public relations department of a Swiss company specialising in the organisation of sporting and cultural events. He then resumed his studies, first taking intensive Italian language courses in Milan before enrolling in a Bachelor’s degree and completing a Master's degree in Bioethics at the University Regina Apostolorum in Rome in 2013.
On 21 September 2013, Prince Félix married Claire Lademacher at the Basilica of Sainte Marie-Madeleine de Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume in France. Prince Félix and Princess Claire have one daughter and two sons: Princess Amalia Gabriela Maria Teresa, born on 15 June 2014; Prince Liam Henri Hartmut, born on 28 November 2016; Prince Balthazar Félix Karl, born on 7 January 2024.
The couple have been managing the Château Les Crostes wine estate in Lorgues in the south of France since October 2013. In 2016, Prince Félix also became the president of the Lorgues Terre de Vins association, a group of winegrowers from Lorgues, who promote their town in the Provence as an attractive tourist and wine destination. With some friends, Prince Félix and Princess Claire created the "Young Empire" company in 2016, a clothing, furniture and homeware brand for children.
According to the Cour Grand-Ducale, Prince Félix regularly takes part in the activities of the Grand Ducal Family. When his schedule permits, he attends ceremonies or official activities such as Luxembourg's National Day or the last day of the Octave.
