On Monday 14 July 2025, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) announced that certificates marking the completion of training were awarded to 55 official new guides for the City of Luxembourg.

According to the LCTO, the formal ceremony took place in the presence of city representatives at the City Hall on Place Guillaume II on Friday 11 July, and marked the successful conclusion of an intensive semester, characterised by motivation, commitment and a passion for the capital.

The LCTO said: “These new guides represent more than just knowledge and professionalism - they also embody real diversity and enthusiasm.”

The guides, aged between 29 and 74, will begin their work on Tuesday 15 July 2025.

The LCTO noted that the graduates come from a variety of backgrounds and, in addition to the four main languages – German, French, Luxembourgish and English – many of the new guides also speak Dutch, Spanish, Italian and several other languages. They stated that this was “a valuable asset in responding to the ever-growing international demand”.

Moreover, the LCTO and the City of Luxembourg (VdL) said that with this training programme, they are sending a strong signal in favour of quality, openness and cultural hospitality in the tourism sector, helping to further enhance the capital’s vibrant and cosmopolitan image.
