On Thursday 2 October 2025, the Maison du Grand-Duc released three commissioned painted portraits of the future Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess.
In advance of the accession to the throne which will occur on Friday 3 October 2025, the official painted portraits were created by Luxembourgish painter Roland Schauls and the British portraitist Louise Pragnell.
According to the Maison du Grand-Duc, the portraits will join the official collection at the Grand Ducal Palace, where they will be on display, while a portrait of the future Grand Duke Guillaume will be placed in the plenary hall of the Chamber of Deputies.
Once the series is complete, the works will be unveiled and open to the public in January 2026 at the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart (MNAHA).
The official portraits of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were created by the Spanish artist Ricardo Macarrón (1926–2004).
