Luxembourg’s Ministry of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and the High Commission for National Protection (HCPN) have announced that a test of the “LU-Alert” public warning and information system will take place on Monday 3 November 2025.
As part of the government’s ongoing strategy to test the system, a monthly siren network test will be carried out, along with a cell broadcast alert to be sent at around 11:00 to all mobile phones located within Luxembourg’s territory.
The test alert will also be transmitted in parallel via the “LU-Alert” mobile application and on the website www.lu-alert.lu. As this is a test, no action or specific behaviour is required from the public.
The Ministry of Home Affairs recalled that the cell broadcast channel is a high-priority alert system that displays messages on mobile devices even when they are in silent mode or locked, accompanied by sound and vibration. This channel is reserved for situations posing a serious or imminent risk to the population and requiring immediate action.
