On Thursday 30 October 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that two vehicles stopped in Ettelbruck during a routine traffic check were found to be transporting large quantities of alcohol.
According to the initial report, during a traffic control operation on the morning of Wednesday 29 October on Rue de Bastogne in Ettelbruck, officers stopped two vehicles that appeared to be visibly overloaded. Upon inspection, it was found that neither of the drivers possessed a valid driving licence. Furthermore, both vehicles were carrying approximately 125 boxes containing bottles of alcohol, amounting to a total of around 250 boxes in total.
Initial investigations revealed that the two drivers were en route to Belgium.
The Customs and Excise Administration was informed of the illegal alcohol transport and subsequently confiscated the goods.
By order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, a report was drawn up for driving without a valid licence.
