The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Thursday 30 October 2025, they undertook an inspection of bicycle couriers in Luxembourg-Gare.

According to the police, the checks were conducted in cooperation with the Labour and Mines Inspectorate (ITM), with the focus of the inspections being on compliance with labour laws, the Highway Code and immigration legislation.

The police reported that as part of the operation, one individual was taken to the detention centre (Centre de rétention) for residing illegally in the Grand Duchy and for breaching immigration laws.

In addition, a scooter was confiscated because the rider did not have valid insurance; likewise, an e-bike was seized due to technical defects.

The police confirmed that a total of 20 officers from various units took part in the inspection.
