The Grand Ducal Police have reported three drink-driving incidents that occurred over the weekend.

On Saturday 15 November 2025, at approximately 14:45, a traffic accident occurred on the A7 motorway between the Lorentzweiler exit and entrance ramps, resulting in minor injuries to two people. According to initial findings, a driver was attempting to change lanes when their vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. The impact caused the vehicle to lose control, skid across both lanes and collide with the median barrier.

Both drivers were taken to hospital for further examination. One of the drivers tested positive for alcohol and cannabis, and a temporary driving ban was issued. The vehicle that caused the collision was totalled (written off). The other vehicle sustained damage to its bumper and the guardrail. The accident caused a brief traffic disruption, according to the police.

On Sunday 16 November 2025, at approximately 04:40, a police patrol in Bertrange noticed a vehicle driving erratically and at excessive speed on Rue de Luxembourg. Officers stopped the vehicle. During the check, they detected the smell of alcohol on the driver. A breathalyser test came back positive. The driver's licence was confiscated and a driving ban was imposed.

Later on Sunday morning, at around 06:00, police received reports of a car that had stopped in front of the Stafelter Tunnel and whose driver appeared to have fallen asleep. The caller woke the driver, who then continued driving and exited the motorway at the Lorentzweiler exit. The car was later located by police at the petrol station in Lorentzweiler, where the driver's breathalyser test came back positive. The driver's licence was subsequently confiscated.
