The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Sunday 23 November 2025, a speeding driver in Rodange was detained and issued with a driving ban after he failed an alcohol test and acted aggressively towards officers.

According to the police, in the early morning of Sunday a police patrol in Rodange noticed a car which was travelling at a significantly excessive speed. When the officers activated the blue lights, the driver continued driving and shortly afterwards entered a car park, where he parked his vehicle and walked away. The suspected driver was approached by the officers. However, he denied having been in control of the vehicle, although the officers were able to clearly identify him as the driver.

Due to signs of possible alcohol consumption, the individual was subjected to a preliminary breath test, which returned a positive result. The man was then taken to the police station for a breathalyser test. However, he refused to undergo the test. A provisional driving ban was issued.

The driver then began to verbally abuse the officers and became increasingly aggressive. Due to his behaviour and his intoxicated state, he posed a danger to himself and others, and after being deemed fit for detention by a medical professional, he was placed in the detention cell. A report was made of the incident.
