The Grand Ducal Police reported two separate arrests in connection with an attempted violent theft and a burglary in Luxembourg City’s station district on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 November 2025.
Late on Wednesday evening, an attempted theft involving violence was reported on Rue du Fort Neipperg in Luxembourg-Gare. According to initial information, a police patrol arrived on the scene and located the victim. The suspect had allegedly become physically aggressive when the victim refused to hand over the mobile phone they were holding. A search of the area led to the identification and apprehension of the alleged perpetrator. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, he was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Thursday 27 November 2025.
In a separate incident, a burglary at a multi-family residence on Rue Renert in Luxembourg-Gare was reported to police shortly before 03:00 on Thursday. According to the police, officers inspecting the building spotted a man inside the office premises of a company; he attempted to flee upon seeing the patrol. Further investigations indicated that two individuals had been involved. A subsequent search proved successful, and officers recovered stolen goods during a body search. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, both suspects were arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
