The Grand Ducal Police have reported that during the evening of Monday 1 December 2025, they carried out alcohol intoxication checks on the instruction of the Public Prosecutor, as provided for in Article 12, paragraph 3, subparagraph 8 of the amended law of 14 February 1955 concerning traffic regulations on all public roads.

According to the police, the checks took place specifically on Rue de l’Europe in Remich, from 21:00 to 22:00, and on Route de Luxembourg in Mondorf-les-Bains, from 22:45 to 23:45.

In total 213 drivers were subjected to a preliminary breath test, even in the absence of any serious indication. In three cases, the test proved positive and reports and fixed-penalty warnings were issued accordingly. In all three cases, driving licences were confiscated on site.

The police also reported that during the checks, seven other traffic offences were detected.
