The Grand Ducal Police have reported two arrests on Monday 8 December 2025 in connection with separate incidents in Dudelange and Grevenmacher.
On Monday afternoon, police received a report of an attempted fraud in Rue des Champs in Dudelange. According to initial information, a suspect had contacted a victim while posing as a LuxTrust employee and claimed he would come to the victim’s address to collect their bank cards. A patrol attended the scene and located the individual. Police stated that his telephone was seized and that a body search yielded no results. Further investigations revealed that he had been accompanied by an accomplice, although an immediate search for this second individual was unsuccessful. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on Tuesday 9 December 2025.
That same day, at around 20:10, officers carrying out a vehicle check in Grevenmacher detected a smell of cannabis coming from a driver. A drug test carried out on site returned a positive result. As this was a repeated offence, the driver was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office. Police added that a report was drawn up.
