On Tuesday 9 December 2025, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg hosted a reception at Berg Castle in Colmar-Berg in honour of members of the Luxembourg Army and the Grand Ducal Police who recently participated in the Grand Duchy's international deployments.

The Maison du Grand-Duc highlighted that, through their participation in international missions - whether peacekeeping operations, crisis management, observation, or support for the control of the European Union's external borders - the Luxembourg Army and the Grand Ducal Police demonstrate Luxembourg's active commitment to European security and cooperation.

The 2025 edition of this annual reception brought together more than 200 participants and their families. Also in attendance were Yuriko Backes, Luxembourg's Minister of Defence, General Steve Thull, Chief of Staff of the Luxembourg Army, and Pascal Peters, Director General of the Grand Ducal Police.

Finger food and drinks were served at the reception, during which Grand Duke Guillaume also delivered a short welcome speech. The castle interior was festively decorated for the season, with an illuminated Christmas tree adorned with baubles and ribbons serving as a striking centrepiece.
