On Thursday 11 December 2025, POST Luxembourg announced a call for proposals for the issue of future official commemorative stamps.
Each year, POST Philately issues around 30 stamps dedicated to various commemorations, for example its annual Christmas celebration and end-of-year charity series and Grand Duke Guillaume's accession to the throne this year, and other occasions celebrating the jubilee of a personality, an association, an institution, a historic building, a work of art or a major event.
Planning for stamp issues for 2027 and the following years is now underway. As such, POST Luxembourg has launched a call for proposals for commemorative stamp themes for 2027 and beyond.
Municipal administrations and major cultural institutions have been invited to submit their proposals for subjects for possible commemorative stamps by post or online via post.lu/timbre. Associations, cooperatives, groups, companies and individuals can also submit their proposals via the online form.
All proposals received by post or electronically before Thursday 15 January 2026, and whose subject has been considered acceptable, will be examined by the Philatelic Committee. The stamp issue programme for 2027 will be presented at the Stamp Evening ("Soirée du Timbre") in autumn 2026.
Once issued, the postage stamps will be available in the POST Philately e-shop (www.postphilately.lu), at the Philatelic Counter in the POST Luxembourg-Gare building (38 Place de la Gare) and in all Espaces POST and post offices.
