On Monday 15 December 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that during the period from the evening of Sunday 14 December to the early hours of Monday 15 December, two drivers had their licences revoked due to drink-driving offences.
According to the police, at around 20:45 on Sunday evening, a potentially intoxicated driver was reported in Echternach. A police patrol was able to stop the driver a short time later. Officers performed an alcohol test on the driver which returned a positive result. The driver’s licence was confiscated by the officers.
Then, just after midnight on Monday, the police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on the A6 motorway. The vehicle was said to have collided with a roadworks sign and several roadwork lamps. The driver was stopped by officers a short time later near Windhof. Showing clear signs of alcohol consumption, officers administered an alcohol test which returned a positive result. Officers issued a provisional driving ban and a report was drawn up.
