On Thursday 18 December 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that following a roadside inspection near Sterpenich on Sunday 14 December, a large volume of counterfeit trainers were discovered and confiscated.
According to the initial information, on Sunday Luxembourg traffic police carried out a roadside inspection on the A6 near border crossing to Belgium, focusing on compliance with lorry traffic restrictions on Sundays.
At approximately 11:20, officers stopped a lorry that had failed to comply with the Sunday transit ban. During the inspection, officers discovered approximately 7,500 pairs of suspected counterfeit trainers from various brands inside the vehicle.
Acting on the orders of the public prosecutor, the footwear was confiscated. Officers drew up a report and further investigations were initiated.
