On Monday 5 January 2026, Luxembourg City's College of Aldermen and the City Council held their annual New Year's staff reception.
All City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) staff were invited to attend the evening reception, which took place at the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.
During a short address, Mayor Lydie Polfer thanked VdL staff for their work and their attendance. The event also provided an opportunity for informal exchanges over food and drinks.
In addition to VdL staff, the mayor, aldermen and municipal councillors, the approximately 700 guests included Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Environment Minister Serge Wilmes and Chamber of Deputies (parliament) President Claude Wiseler.
