Police Call for Witnesses After Blood Found in Luxembourg City

The Grand Ducal Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a sizable quantity of human blood was discovered in Luxembourg City on Tuesday 6 January 2026.

At around 07:30, police received a report of a large pool of blood in Place du Théâtre, at the end of Côte d'Eich (the continuation of Rue du Fossé). Investigations confirmed that the blood was of human origin. However, the discovery has so far not been linked to any intervention by emergency services, the police or hospitals.
