On Friday 9 January 2026, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) announced that it welcomed a delegation of chimney sweeps from the Federation of Technical Engineering (FGT) at City Hall.
The visit formed part of the traditional New Year exchange of good wishes. Members of the delegation were received by the College of Aldermen and Councillors of the VdL.
Traditionally regarded as symbols of good luck, the chimney sweeps took the opportunity to present the artwork The Chimney Sweeper, created by artist Philippe Lamesch, to Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer.
