The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Monday 12 January 2026, officers revoked a driving licence following a drink driving incident in Esch-Belval, during which drugs were also found.
According to the initial information, shortly before 20:00 on Monday 12 January, a police patrol carrying out a general security patrol noticed a vehicle on Rue d’Oberkorn in Esch-Belval that was parked at an angle in a parking bay and whose driver appeared visibly overwhelmed while operating the vehicle. Upon seeing the officers, the driver attempted to move away from the vehicle.
During the subsequent check, officers detected clear signs of alcohol consumption. An alcohol test was carried out which returned a positive result. A provisional driving ban was issued accordingly.
In addition, officers seized a bag containing marijuana from inside the vehicle. A drug test was also carried out on the driver.
The drugs and the vehicle were seized and an official report was drawn up.
