The Grand Ducal Police have reported several incidents involving burglaries and drink driving that occurred on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 January 2026 across Luxembourg.

On Tuesday morning, police were alerted to a burglary at a single-family house on Rue de Pontpierre in Mondercange. According to initial information, unknown perpetrators gained access to the property via a door and ransacked the interior. An investigation has been launched.

Later that afternoon, police received reports of several individuals attempting to break into a single-family house on Porte des Ardennes in Erpeldange (Erpeldange-sur-Sûre). A police patrol was dispatched immediately and apprehended two suspects at the scene. A third suspect was subsequently arrested following a search operation. On the instructions of the public prosecutor’s office, an official report was drawn up.

Police also received reports of several separate drink-driving incidents. On Tuesday evening at around 23:00, officers were alerted to an intoxicated driver who had reportedly fallen asleep at the wheel on Avenue de Luxembourg in Bascharage. A police patrol located the driver shortly afterwards. The alcohol test returned a positive result and a provisional driving ban was issued.

In the early hours of Wednesday 14 January, at around 01:30, a vehicle was reported driving erratically on Route du Nord in Ettelbruck. The driver was stopped shortly afterwards by a police patrol, tested positive for alcohol and was also issued with a provisional driving ban.
