The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they carried out a traffic control on Tuesday 20 January 2026 as part of their ongoing "Gutt Gesinn" ("Good Sense") road safety campaign.
The operation took place at the Tinnesbruch roundabout in Mersch on Tuesday morning, from 07:00 to 09:00.
During the check, officers issued a total of 44 fines. These included 29 cases of defective lighting and seven cases of incomplete vehicle documentation.
Two drivers or passengers were not wearing seat belts, and one vehicle was found to have defective tyres. Officers also issued warnings for insufficient visibility and an illegible licence plate.
In addition, two reports were filed: one for driving without a licence and one for driving under the influence of drugs.
A total of eighteen officers participated in the operation.
A similar traffic check took place on the N31 in Pétange on Tuesday.
