On Wednesday 21 January 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported that a vehicle was seized in Luxembourg following a failed pursuit by French police officers.
According to the initial information, in the night leading up to Wednesday 21 January the Grand Ducal Police were informed by their French counterparts that a vehicle had evaded a control in France, resulting in a pursuit in the border area during which the French officers lost sight of the vehicle.
As part of a search operation, the vehicle was located a short time later by the Luxembourg police on the A6 and was stopped. The vehicle displayed multiple damages, was uninsured and officers found two prohibited knives inside.
Officers administered a roadside drug test on the driver which returned a positive result. By order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the vehicle and knives were seized and a report was drawn up.
