On Tuesday 27 January 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported the arrest of a man following an assault in Pétange on Monday 26 January.
According to the initial information, at around 11:20 on Monday the police were notified of a case of domestic violence in Pétange. The incident initially involved a verbal argument between a couple. However, during the dispute the man is reported to have physically assaulted the woman and threatened her with a knife.
The suspect was located by a police patrol and on the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office was arrested.
