On Monday 29 June 2026, Luxembourg's Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception launched a national call for projects aimed at raising awareness of racism and racial discrimination.

According to the ministry, the initiative forms part of the implementation of Luxembourg's National Action Plan for the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. It seeks to fund awareness-raising initiatives, particularly in the field of education, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth.

The ministry noted that the call will also support the expansion of its "Micro-aggressions" awareness campaign, scheduled for the second half of 2026. The aim is to strengthen the campaign's impact and raise awareness among both the general public and targeted audiences about the everyday forms of racism, including seemingly harmless behaviours that often reflect unconscious prejudice.

The call for projects focuses on two priorities:

• awareness-raising initiatives against racism and racial discrimination for children and young people from birth to the age of eighteen in formal and non-formal education settings;

• information and awareness campaigns addressing micro-aggressions and everyday racism.

Projects under the education strand should encourage participants to challenge prejudice, identify discriminatory behaviour and prevent racism. Particular attention will be given to initiatives that actively involve children and young people in the planning, design or implementation of activities.

The second strand supports public awareness campaigns, information stands, street marketing activities, interactive events and the development of educational and awareness materials for municipalities, associations and other organisations. Selected projects are expected to complement the national "Micro-aggressions" campaign and use its visual identity.
