The Grand Ducal Police has reported an arrest following an attempted assault involving a vehicle in Luxembourg-Gasperich on Monday 7 September 2026.
At around 22:30, police were informed of an altercation between two people near the church on Rue de Gasperich. According to initial information, a man had attempted to hit a woman with a vehicle. She was able to move out of the way in time and was not injured.
At the scene, officers encountered a man who was visibly under the influence of alcohol. An alcohol test returned a positive result. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and the vehicle was seized.
As the man had also been driving under the influence of alcohol, a driving ban was imposed. Police noted that the vehicle did not have valid insurance.
The man was brought before an investigating judge on Tuesday 8 September 2026.
