On the evening of Friday 14 November 2025, the Gaelic Sports Club Luxembourg hosted the Luxembourg GAA Awards Night at The Black Stuff in Luxembourg-Hamm.
The event, attended by Jean McDonald, Ambassador of Ireland to Luxembourg, saw the presentation of the Pan-European Gaelic Football Trophy to the men’s football team, who lifted their third Pan-European Championship, and the presentation of the European Camogie Championship Trophy to the women’s camogie team, who claimed the European Camogie title for the first time since 2009.
The evening also recognised individual excellence, with Player of the Year awards presented in each code: men’s football, hurling, ladies’ football and camogie.
Individual awards:
- Hurler of the Year: Aodh Ó Gallchóir
- Men’s Footballer of the Year: Evan Kelly
- Ladies’ Footballer of the Year: Avril King
- Camogie Player of the Year: Maolíosa Walsh
An additional Club Person of the Year award, recognising “the most dedicated member(s) of the club for 2025”, was presented to Gráinne McCluskey and Oisín Goodman.
Gaelic Sports Club Luxembourg noted that the club continues to grow with 212 members in 2025 and successfully hosted a competition in Luxembourg City in April 2025, bringing teams from across the Benelux region for a full day of Gaelic sport. The club said it hopes to build on recent positive trends and host a round of European competition in 2026.
