On Thursday 26 March 2026, Luxembourg's basketball club, BBC Sparta Bertrange, announced that Yves Germeaux has been unanimously appointed as President of the club by its Board of Directors.
Yves Germeaux has been a board member since 2025 and has been active within the club for 38 years, both as a former player and as a committed member.
He succeeded Romain Hoffmann, who stepped down at the end of 2024, taking over leadership of a team whose composition has been strengthened in recent months.
Commenting on his appointment, Yves Germeaux said: “It is a great honour for me to take on the role of President of BBC Sparta Bertrange. I look forward to contributing to the club’s continued development, with the aim of further consolidating its position as a reference in Luxembourg basketball and expanding its influence both in youth development and in high-performance basketball.”
He also highlighted the commitment of the club’s players, supporters, partners and volunteers and thanked the municipality of Bertrange for its continued support, as well as his predecessors for their contribution to the club’s success.
The Board of Directors is currently composed of President Yves Germeaux; Vice Presidents Gordon Braun, Sven Hagen and Bill Krieps; Secretary René Gillen; Treasurer Bob Savic; and members Tom Didlinger, Tom Diederich, Nadine Greiveldinger, Jonas Johansson, Steve Kodesch, Dan Mais, Pol Schwartz and Sohrab Ziai.
