On Wednesday 22 October 2025, the British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg (BCC) held its Leadership Forum at the Banque de Luxembourg, bringing together leading figures from the space sector to discuss the theme “Leadership & Space”.
In their opening remarks, BCC Chair Andrew Notter and Marko Lukovic of the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) highlighted Luxembourg’s growing credibility as a key player in the commercial space economy. From regulatory innovation to the forthcoming Space Campus at ParcLuxite, discussions reflected Luxembourg’s continued commitment to developing its space sector.
Moderated by Marko Lukovic and Dr Keith Amoss, the panel featured experts from the space industry, including Jaroslaw Jaworski from Edge Aerospace, Kathryn Hadler from the Luxembourg-based European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC), Fabien Loeffler from Luxembourg satellite company SES and Sabrina Alam from KPMG.
Panellists underscored that today’s space economy needs more than rocket scientists. They described the industry as interdisciplinary and increasingly geopolitical. Jaroslaw Jaworski called it a “mature industry” requiring creativity, policy and talent. Kathryn Hadler emphasised the rising importance of space mining, while Fabien Loeffler spoke of the critical link between public investment and commercial viability.
Speakers underlined the need for resilience instead of perfection in leadership. “Failure isn’t the right word,” noted Sabrina Alam and Kathryn Hadler, adding that a strong learning culture and continuous development are essential, especially as artificial intelligence (AI), automation and global competition accelerate.
The discussion also explored talent challenges. In startups, trust and cultural fit matter deeply. Jaroslaw Jaworski joked: “Every hire is a marriage.” Fabien Loeffler added that even when people move on, they enrich the sector as a whole.
The evening closed with a shared insight, that Luxembourg’s space industry offers extraordinary opportunities for curious minds with the courage to grow, adapt and lead.
