The City of Luxembourg (VdL) has announced that a new edition of “Second Chance at Schluechthaus” will take place on Sunday 26 October 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00 at the former abattoir site in Luxembourg-Hollerich.
According to the VdL, following the success of the Second Hand Book Sale in 2023 and 2024, the venue will once again transform into a large pop-up book fair organised by the Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque with bookstagrammers @Betweenthelines.lu and @Idealistatheart, offering an eco-friendly, budget alternative to buying new books and supporting the circular economy.
Ahead of the event, the VdL is inviting residents to drop off second-hand books at Schluechthaus on Saturday 18 October from 14:00 to 18:00 and Sunday 19 October from 09:00 to 12:00. Contributors will receive a voucher worth up to €5, depending on the number of books donated, redeemable at the sale on Sunday 26 October. Proceeds this year will be donated to the Union Luxembourgeoise des Bibliothèques Publiques (ULBP) in support of public libraries.
