On Friday 12 December 2025, SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde announced that it is now under the High Patronage of Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg.
The Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation described this development as "a strong sign of the long-standing support" of the Grand Ducal Court for its projects. This High Patronage is part of a tradition that began with Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte and continued for 20 years with Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde noted: "Grand Duchess Stéphanie's strong commitment to humanitarian, social and cultural causes, particularly those related to children, is well known. We fondly remember that for her first public appearance in 2012, she accompanied Maria Teresa to our Gala Concert on 6 December at the Philharmonie."
The non-profit organisation added that this cause (of supporting children) has driven its work for over 50 years. Its international programmes are dedicated to the most vulnerable children so that they can grow up in a world of dignity, peace and justice; so they can live their childhood with full respect for their rights and look toward the future with confidence.
