The City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) has reported that the "Chrëschtmaart Place d'Armes" association donated €1,500 to "Kannerland - Foyer de Jour" (daycare centre) of the Elisabeth group.
The cheque handover took place on Friday 12 December 2025, in the presence of Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer. The beneficiary organisation was represented by Jacques Schlesser, Director of Elisabeth Kanner- a Familljenhëllef, and Caroline Theves, Communications Officer at Elisabeth.
The funds were raised through the nativity scene installed on Place d'Armes as part of the Winterlights 2024 festivities.
This year, visitors to the Christmas market in Place d'Armes can make a donation in support of Chiens Guides d'Aveugles au Luxembourg asbl (guide dogs for the blind association).
