Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable members of society, reported that 90 employees from partner organisations volunteered at its 27th Christmas celebration.

The association noted that contributions in the form of financial, material and human support helped offer activities for Stëmm vun der Strooss’ beneficiaries in the days leading up to the holiday season.

According to the association, several partners provided not only logistical or financial support but also actively participated on site as volunteers, thus “strengthening the spirit of solidarity and reflecting strong and tangible social engagement”.

All remaining donations from this event were distributed during other Christmas celebrations: on Friday 19 December at the post-therapeutic centre in Schoenfels, Mersch and in the social restaurant in Ettelbruck; on Monday 22 December in Esch-sur-Alzette; and on Wednesday 24 December in the building in Sanem housing the Caddy and Schweesdrëps workshops as well as the Immo Stëmm service.

The association indicated that the collective involvement of partners and volunteers contributes to its daily work supporting people in vulnerable situations and fighting social exclusion.
