On Wednesday 29 April 2026, Fondation Cancer announced that the 2026 edition of Relais pour la Vie (Relay for Life) raised €1,254,463.
Fondation Cancer said the charity event “once again demonstrated the strength of solidarity in the face of cancer”. According to the foundation, more than 15,000 participants (divided into 548 teams), came together on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March at the Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg to show their solidarity with cancer patients and their families, in an atmosphere that was both moving and full of hope.
Over 24 hours, the teams took turns, both in person and remotely, forming a continuous human chain and raising €1,254,463 in support of patients and their families and to fund prevention initiatives and support scientific research.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Dr Carole Bauer, President of Fondation Cancer, said: “Relais pour la Vie is a powerful symbol. A symbol of hope, solidarity and continuity. Because in the face of cancer, the journey does not end with a diagnosis or the completion of treatment. It continues over time, with multiple human, practical and essential needs.”
Each year, Fondation Cancer rewards the teams that have raised the highest amounts in their category through the Hope Awards.
In 2026, the winners are:
• Associations and clubs: Maison Relais Mondercange – €9,150
