On Monday 27 July 2026, Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, reported that it had recently received a donation of €1,366 through the "Lies Défi" ("Reading Challenge") organised by the Media Library in the municipality of Roeser.

According to the NGO, 580 schoolchildren took part in the reading competition, which was supported by the municipality's teaching staff. As part of the initiative, the children invited their parents to make a financial contribution in support of Stëmm vun der Strooss, raising a total of €1,366.

The donation was presented to the organisation's Director, Alexandra Oxacelay, during a cheque presentation, where the pupils also had the opportunity to ask questions about people experiencing hardship. Stëmm vun der Strooss described the exchange as particularly special and moving.

The NGO added that the donation will support the activities of its Kanner Stëmm service, which assists children and families in vulnerable situations through a holistic and collaborative approach.
