On Tuesday 1 September 2026, Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss, which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable individuals, announced the members of the handicraft workshop Paroisse Kordall had raised €1,000 for the organisation.
According to Stëmm, for three years the members of the Paroisse Kordall have been supporting the activities of Stëmm by donating the proceeds from their stand at the municipality’s Christmas market. This initiative was renewed again in December 2025, when they chose Stëmm as the beneficiary of the event for yet another year.
On Friday 19 June, the ladies of Paroisse Kordall, led by Sonja Mack and Khanh Faten-Nguyen, in the spirit of their founder Georgette Schickes-Polfer, invited Bob Ritz, Communications Officer at Stëmm, to the church premises in Linger for the official donation handover. The donation was raised through the sale of a variety of handcrafted, knitted and sewn items.
Stëmm reported that following the presentation of the cheque, the members of the handicraft workshop and Bob Ritz braved the summer heat while exchanging ideas about the activities of the parish and Stëmm, as well as discussing possible future collaborations.
At the presentation Bob Ritz emphasised that he “greatly appreciates people who dedicate their careful work to helping those most in need, creating moments of solidarity and fellowship just a few days before the joyful occasion of our National Day, which reminds us of the solidarity of our entire country.”
Stëmm vun der Strooss said it was “delighted to be able to count on such dedicated people, who over time have become true friends”.
