On the afternoon of Tuesday 17 June 2025, the Rotondes Cultural Centre in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie hosted a press conference to present its plans for the 2025/26 season.

The event took place outside the Klub venue at Rotondes 2 and began with an opening speech from Rotondes Director, Stephen Meyers, who remarked that the Rotondes buildings celebrated their 150th anniversary this year and have for ten years staged a variety of shows and concerts and acted as spaces for exhibitions and conferences. He also announced that the renovation works currently taking place in Rotondes 1 are expected to be completed by May 2026.

Various members of the Rotondes staff then provided details on the upcoming events for the new season and information relating to the changes brought about by the continuing renovation works at Rotondes 1.

Laura Graser, responsible for the programme of performance arts and workshops, detailed the upcoming changes and events for the new season which include a new in-house production entitled Coperta by Italian artist Andrea Buzzetti, which will take place in the Rotondes’ Black Box venue due to the temporary closure of Rotondes 1. The Black Box will also host a number of Rotondes co-productions, including Knuet, an interactive installation by Kopla bunz and Markus et moi by the Collectif des Pièces Détachées. After the reopening of Rotondes 1 in May 2026, it will host the 15th edition of the Hip Hop Marathon followed by Mirkids, a “hypnotic circular dance performance” by Swiss company Prototype Status.

Marc Scozzai, responsible for the programme of visual arts events, provided details of an art installation which will take place at the base of the old pedestrian bridge located near the venue that will feature a ceramic mural by artist Steven Cruz, entitled Marés Vivas. He also provided information on a selection of new Loop and Cubeaudio-visual and art installations which will be hosted in the Klub venue. He also announced that these will now be made available to the public during the opening hours of the venue’s Buvette facility.

Yves Conrady, responsible for the programme of sociocultural and environmental events, announced the opening of an escape room-based installation for children and the 5th edition of Slampionship, Luxembourg’s poetry slam championship, organised in partnership with the Géisskan Kollektiv, Kulturhaus Niederanven and Prabbeli Wiltz.

Marc Hauser, responsible for the programme of music events, provided an update on the upcoming Congés Annulés festival, which runs from Friday 25 July to Thursday 21 August 2025 and will include performances on the opening night from Totorro, Ebbb and First Mote. Additional acts at the festival include Irish post-punk group Sprints, English alternative-rock band Deadletter, Anglo-German artist Anika and experimental electro band Factory Floor. There will also be music sets from local artists The Cookie Jar Complot, Autumn Sweater and Waffle Killers.

The Rotondes staff also confirmed that following the success of the off-site edition in April 2025, family festival Mini PICelectroNIC am Park will return to Bonnevoie’s Parc square in spring 2026. Other adjustments to accommodate events off-site include gaming festival Game On, which will move temporarily to the Bonnevoie cultural centre, a creative writing workshop for teenagers and young adults which will take place at Oekozenter in Luxembourg-Pfaffendall and two additional events which will take place off-site in Hollerich: the Foire aux Disques at Schluechthaus; and the contemporary circus show Living by Be Flat.

Rotondes management described the programme as “driven by curiosity and creative energy across all departments” and noted that despite the Rotondes venue undergoing change, no construction work will bring it to a halt.
