Independent Little Lies (ILL) will host a round-table conference on 30 June 2015 at 18:30 at the Rotondes in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie within the context of the European project entitled Playing a Part.
In the Luxembourg theater community, multilingualism is nothing abnormal. But how does an artist of the theatre, approach multilingualism outside the specific linguistic situation of Luxembourg and the Greater Region? Can European collaborations cross language barriers? Can we consider multilingualism as an asset?
Because of the experience of the Playing a Part project (a partnership between Luxembourg, Catalan and Italian theatre companies co-financed by the Grundtvig European programme), Claire Thill, Jill Christophe, Ian De Toffoli and Rose Quellaien realise the opportunities and limits of a multilingual theatre project, explain the operation and purpose of the Grundtvig European programme and discuss with Natalie Bloch (scientific collaborator on the "Prozesse Internationalisierung der im Theater der Gegenwart" project at the University of Luxembourg) and Andreas Wagner (drama at the National Theatre of Luxembourg) the implementation of multilingual projects and cultural policies in the background.
This roundtable is part of the anniversary programme of ILL on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of collective theatre.
