On Tuesday 1 September 2026, Samsa Film announced a nationwide casting call for the lead role in a new television series inspired by Andy Bausch’s Troublemaker trilogy.
According to Samsa Film, Troublemaker, released in 1988, became “one of the most popular films in the history of Luxembourgish cinema”. Almost forty years later, the production company is searching for a new Johnny Chicago, inspired by the character portrayed by Thierry Van Werveke in the original trilogy.
Samsa Film is looking for a Luxembourgish-speaking man aged between eighteen and 28. No professional acting experience or formal training is required.

The new series will be directed, among others, by Roxanne Peguet, from a screenplay by Roxanne Peguet, Andy Bausch, Govinda Van Maele and Bernard Michaux.
Filming is scheduled to take place in Luxembourg in spring 2027.
