Elysium Gym, a new fitness facility that opened in Howald in October 2025, has announced its upcoming Open Days, taking place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 January 2026.
Located at 34 Rangwee, on the site of the former Sichel furniture shop, the gym occupies a 2,500 m² renovated space spread over three floors. The facility was created by a young team of entrepreneurs: three Luxembourgers (two of them brothers) and an American partner currently based in Luxembourg.
The founders said they saw a gap in the market for fitness spaces with "a true sense of community" and for "large-scale, aesthetic, American-inspired bodybuilding and performance facilities".
"People often associate that type of gym with big cities in the US or major European capitals," said Elysium Gym CEO Joel Sauber. "We wanted to bring that level of design, intensity and functionality to Luxembourg, without copying the commercial chain model."
The facility is organised across three levels:
- the ground floor is dedicated to upper-body strength, powerlifting and bodybuilding machines;
- the first floor focuses on lower-body training and includes a posing room and a group class studio for yoga, pilates and Les Mills courses (e.g. Body Pump);
- the top floor features a fully equipped HYROX training zone.
According to the founders, the space is defined by a clean, modern architectural design, enhanced by signature purple LED lighting. The lighting, combined with the open layout and clear zoning, is intended to create an atmosphere that feels purposeful and immersive.
The founders added that the gym has a social element but "members are known for taking their training seriously". "You can spend time talking in the lounge, but once people step onto the floor, there's a clear training focus," explained Jeff Sauber, COO. "It's social, but disciplined."
Though rooted in Howald and built by a Luxembourgish team, the gym reflects the country's multicultural character. "We wanted a space where locals and internationals feel equally at home," said Sheena Shah, Head of Marketing. "Luxembourg is diverse, our gym should be too."
To introduce the wider public to the facility, Elysium Gym will host Open Days on the first weekend of January. Visitors will be able to explore the facility, take part in free pilates, yoga and Body Pump sessions, speak with athletes and trainers, join fitness challenges and enter a lottery to win gym membership.
