On Monday 13 October 2025, Luxembourg officially gained its first organisation dedicated to franchising with the inauguration of the Luxembourg Franchise Association (LuxFA) in Luxembourg-City.

The new association is led by President Malika Lamamra, together with Vice-President and Co-Founder Dr Ljiljana Kukec and Daniel Adam, Treasurer and Administrative Manager (AR Services Luxembourg). The board brings together expertise from across roles, with Denis Clébant as Strategy and Governance Advisor and Delphine Fischer as Head of Development & Partnerships.

LuxFA aims to provide a national framework for an entrepreneurial model long established in neighbouring markets. “Franchising can become one of Luxembourg’s next engines of growth - it enables entrepreneurs to scale their businesses sustainably, strengthen small enterprise development, and create new jobs,” said Malika Lamamra. She added: “Every day, each of us interacts with several franchise businesses, often without realising it. This demonstrates the model’s integration into everyday life and its potential for developing local Luxembourg brands.”

The association noted that the sector’s scale in the region signalled strong potential for the Grand Duchy, with over 1,900 franchise networks in France and around 450 in Belgium, supporting more than one million jobs. Looking ahead, LuxFA announced plans to launch its website in 2026 and to roll out public workshops and training programmes to help local entrepreneurs and institutions explore the franchising model. “Luxembourg combines innovation, international outlook and entrepreneurial spirit - a perfect setting to grow a new generation of ethical and successful local franchises,” said Dr Ljiljana Kukec.

LuxFA also intends to establish a Good Practice Label and a Luxembourg Franchise Code of Ethics to promote quality standards and consumer trust.
