On Wednesday 4 February 2026, Luxembourg's LCGB trade union announced the signing of the first collective agreement with the inland navigation company HGK Pushbarging Lux Sàrl.

The collective agreement is valid from Sunday 1 February 2026 until 31 December 2028 inclusive.

According to the LCGB, the agreement aims to improve working conditions for around 60 nautical employees through the following measures: a clearly defined wage group structure; reduced working time models; new allowances such as a responsibility allowance for ship captains and a ship manager allowance; a commitment to jointly develop countermeasures in the event of economic changes, in order to help to preserve jobs.

The LCGB also noted that the agreement makes HGK Shipping the first inland navigation operator to bring all its outfitting companies under valid collective agreements.
