The Jazz Forum Luxembourg (JFL) has announced the start of its third season, with the first concert taking place on Monday 17 November 2025 at the Forum Geesseknäppchen in Luxembourg-Merl (40 bld Dupong).
According to JFL, the initiative aims to organise jazz concerts where international stars share the stage with local musicians, while also nurturing young talent by featuring student performers as opening acts. This season introduces three new elements: workshops, a big band evening and a concert for children.
The opening concert will feature the Walt Weiskopf Quartet, with the acclaimed American tenor saxophonist performing alongside Jean-Yves Jung (piano), Boris Schmidt (bass) and Michel Meis (drums). The evening will begin with a student band performance at 18:30, followed by the main concert at 19:30.
A workshop with Walt Weiskopf will be held the day before, on Sunday 16 November 2025 from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Centre des Sociétés (36 rue Emile Lavandier, Luxembourg).
The season continues in January 2026 with two concerts:
- On Saturday 24 January, violinist and vocalist Heather Stewart will present “Un Coup de Cœur - A Blow to the Heart”, a concert for children aged 4-9 featuring Shauli Einav (woodwinds), Manuel Weyand (drums) and Pol Belardi (bass, vibes & keys).
- On Wednesday 28 January, the Itai Kriss Quartet will perform, with the flautist joined by Michel Reis (piano), Boris Schmidt (bass) and Paul Wiltgen (drums).
A workshop with Itai Kriss will precede the concert, on Tuesday 27 January 2026 from 18:00 to 20:00.
In March, JFL will host the Bob Sneider Trio featuring Chien-Chien Lu on Monday 2 March 2026, with Bob Sneider (guitar), Marc Demuth (bass), Pit Dahm (drums) and Chien-Chien Lu (vibes). The event will be preceded by a workshop with Bob Sneider on Sunday 1 March 2026 from 16:00 to 18:00.
The season will close with the Shauli Einav Big Band Gala Night featuring Andy Hunter and Daniel Migliosi on Wednesday 22 April 2026, bringing together a fifteen-piece ensemble of international and Luxembourgish musicians for a grand finale.
Tickets for all concerts are priced at €20.50 (€1.50 with Kulturpass), with free admission for under 18s (reservation required).
