An insurance company Baloise Luxembourg has announced the appointment of Sandra Bento as Executive General Counsel, succeeding Benoît Piccart, who previously held this position. 

Effective from Wednesday 1 April 2026, she is also a member of the company’s expanded Executive Committee.

Having been with Baloise Luxembourg since 2012, she has held several positions, with a career marked by continuous advancement: Head of Wealth Planning, then Product Management LPS, and since 2022, Head of Legal, covering the local market, International Life and Corporate Legal, while continuing to oversee Wealth Planning and Product Management for International Life. 

Before joining Baloise, she practised as a lawyer at law firms in Portugal, where she specialised in tax law and later at Deloitte Portugal as a Senior Tax Consultant. 

Aged 44 and a lawyer by training, she holds a Master’s degree in Law and Taxation. She also holds a certificate from the General Counsel Academy Executive Programme and a Corporate Governance Officer certificate from the Institute of Governance Luxembourg (ILA). 

Beyond her professional background, Sandra Bento is recognised for her rigour, analytical skills and ability to navigate complex environments effectively, noted the company, adding that her in-depth knowledge of Baloise Luxembourg’s operations and her daily commitment are valuable assets in supporting the company’s growth.
